Uncolouring the British Isles

I was sent this book by Blarney Books & Art for an exhibition to be hung at Blarney Books and Art from Saturday 7 June 2014 to the end of September. Port Fairy. Victoria. Australia http://blarneybooks.com.au/

I responded to the the book’s title, The Colourful British Isles by masking out the colour images with black and white photocopies cut to reveal selected highlights of the distinctive colour printing of the era. That I am from the Bristish Isles, and the book was published in the year of my birth added a particular resonance to this project.
